Praying through the Seven Mountains of Influence

In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission(YWAM), developed a God-given, world-changing strategy. Their mandate: Bring Godly change to a nation by reaching its seven spheres, or mountains, of societal influence.

They concluded that in order to truly transform any nation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, these seven facets of society must be reached: Religion, Family, Education, Government, Media, Arts & Entertainment and Business.

Praying at Home

Reflect: Psalm 91, 27, and 23

Pray:

  • Government: Heavenly Father, we lift up the leaders of our nation and local communities. Grant them wisdom, integrity, and a heart to serve the people. May they make righteous decisions that align with Your will and promote justice, equality, and peace.

  • Education: Lord, we intercede for teachers, professors, and administrators. Equip them with knowledge, understanding, and discernment to impart wisdom and values to the students. May our educational institutions become centers of excellence, positively shaping the minds and hearts of the next generation.

  • Media and Entertainment: Father, we pray for journalists, artists, filmmakers, writers, and those working in the media industry. May they use their platforms to promote truth, goodness, and Love. Inspire them to create content that edifies, encourages, and reflects Your character.

  • Business and Economy: Lord, we seek Your guidance for entrepreneurs, innovators, and workers in the business world. Bless their endeavors, that they may bring economic growth, create job opportunities, and uphold ethical standards. May they be a source of provision for those in need and stewards of resources.

  • Family: Heavenly Father, we pray for the institution of family. Strengthen marriages, heal broken relationships, and restore unity among family members. Teach us to love, respect, and support one another, reflecting Your love in our homes. May our families become beacons of stability and peace.

  • Religion: Lord, we seek Your anointing upon pastors, ministers, and leaders in religious organizations. Fill them with Your spirit, that they may boldly preach Your Word, disciple believers, and lead congregations with humility and integrity. May the Church be a transformative force, shining Your light in the world.

  • Arts and Culture: Father, we pray for musicians, actors, dancers, and all those involved in the arts. Inspire them to use their talents to glorify You and impact society positively. May expressions of beauty, creativity, and cultural diversity bring unity and healing to our communities

  • Prayer Points for Praying Over Your Family

    • Protection: Heavenly Father, we ask for Your divine protection over our family. Guard us against physical harm, spiritual attacks, and emotional distress. Surround each family member with Your angels and create a hedge of safety around us.
      2. Unity: Lord, help us to cultivate strong bonds of love, respect, and unity within our family. Break down walls of division, bitterness, and unforgiveness. Bind our hearts together with cords that cannot be easily broken.
      3. Spiritual Growth: Father, we pray that each family member would grow in their relationship with You. Draw us closer to Your heart, deepen our faith, and grant us wisdom to live according to Your Word. May we honor You with our thoughts, words, and actions.
      4. Health and Wholeness: Lord, we lift up our physical and emotional well-being to You. Bring healing to any sickness or pain within our family. Restore us where brokenness exists and bring wholeness to every aspect of our lives.
      5. Guidance: Heavenly Father, guide our family in making decisions that align with Your perfect will. Grant us discernment and wisdom in both big and small matters. Help us to seek Your voice and follow Your leading in all that we do.
      6. Blessing: Lord, we ask for Your abundant blessings upon our family. Shower us with Your favor, provision, and opportunities to be a blessing to others. May our family be a conduit of Your grace and goodness to those around us.
      7. Legacy: Father, we pray that our family would leave a lasting legacy of faith, love, and purpose. May future generations continue to walk in Your ways and fulfill the purposes You have for them. Equip us to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
